How to Know When You Need Garage Door Repair

Is your garage door acting up? Are you hearing noises that used to not be there? Garage doors need maintenance and sometimes repairs. If you are noticing some changes in how your garage doors operate, then you may need to have them repaired. Garage door repair is important to do in a timely manner, as allowing issues to go unchecked can cause additional and more costly repairs. Here is how you can know if you need a garage door repair.

  • Out of Balance Door – When a garage door is out of balance, it will either look like it is sagging or it won’t close evenly. It is important to have this fixed so that you don’t wear out one of the springs before the other.
  • Noises During Operation – You shouldn’t hear popping, grinding, squeaking, or any other noise during operation of your garage door.
  • Movement at Middle Position – If you stop the door at mid-level position and it either drops down or goes back up, then you are in need of a garage door repair. You are likely having issues with the torsion spring.
  • Won’t Open/Close – When you want in or out of your garage, there is nothing more frustrating than a garage door that won’t open or close. This could mean several things. It could mean that the garage door opener is failing, you have a stripped gear, or the cables are having issues.

If you are experiencing one of these problems, then give us a call at Access Garage Doors of Central Kentucky. Garage door repair is always better to have done right when you notice a problem so that the issue doesn’t worsen.
